Nikolay Martirosyan, MD, PhD

Nikolay Martirosyan, MD, PhD, is a neurosurgeon in the Department of Neurosurgery at Barrow Neurological Institute. He is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons.

Dr. Martirosyan’s expertise includes complex and minimally invasive spine surgery. He specializes in the treatment of spinal deformities, degenerative spine conditions, spinal trauma, and tumors of the spine and spinal cord. He is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons.

Dr. Martirosyan earned his medical degree from First Moscow State Medical University in Russia and a doctoral degree in neuroscience from Arizona State University. He completed his neurosurgery residency and a complex spine surgery fellowship at the University of Arizona in Tucson. He completed additional fellowship training in complex spine surgery and minimally invasive spine surgery at Barrow Neurological Institute.

Dr. Martirosyan’s research focuses on spinal cord injury, spinal degeneration, scoliosis, and spinal imaging.
